Lindsay Lohan has begun work on The Canyons, a film project opposite James Deen an actor who is best known for his work in pornographic films.
A rep for the actress confirmed to EW that Lohan is on set, and filming began last week. She is extremely excited to be working with Paul Schrader, her publicist said.
Schrader is directing the movie, with a script by Bret Easton Ellis (Less Than Zero). Former Lionsgate producer Braxton Pope is also involved. The project, partially funded via Kickstarter, is described as a contemporary thriller that documents five twenty-somethings quest for power, love, sex and success in 2012 Hollywood.
According to the producers announcement on the Kickstarter page, We all experienced the frustrations of financing and institutional censorship, Schrader said. But now, with advances in digital photography and distribution, we can tell a story in the manner we choose. Movies are changing and were changing with it.
They were asking for $100,000 to help make The Canyon, and so far theyve raised $159,015.
