Lindsay Lohan cast opposite porn star James Deen

"American Psycho" author Bret Easton Ellis announced on Twitter Tuesday that he and director Paul Schrader have cast Lindsay Lohan opposite porn star James Deen in the upcoming film adaptation of his book "The Canyons." Drama queen Lohan is playing Elizabeth Taylor in the now filming Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick."

Although Jeff Daniels' eagerly awaited HBO series "The Newsroom" won't debut until June 24, it's already winning awards. The Broadcast Television Journalists Association announced Tuesday that "The Newsroom" and four other soon-to-debut new TV shows, including Fox's "The Following" and "The Mindy Project," ABC's "Nashville" and USA's "Political Animals," will be honored as Most Exciting New Series at this year's Critics' Choice Television Awards. "How I Met Your Mother" star Alyson Hannigan, 38, and her husband, Alexis Denisof, 46, welcomed daughter Keeva Jane Denisof on May 23, www.usmagazine.com reports. Hannigan and Denisof, married since 2003, have another daughter: Satyana, 3.

Tickets ($25-$85) for Smokey Robinson's Sept. 15 concert with the Detroit Symphony at DTE Energy Music Theatre will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, promoters announced Tuesday.

On Monday, veteran Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich premiered the documentary "A Death in the Family: The Show Must Go On" on www.grammy.com. The doc chronicles the last-minute changes made to the 2012 awards show after singer Whitney Houston died just 24 hours before the Grammys.

2. 'GWTW' actress dies at 94

Actress Ann Rutherford, 94, best known for playing Scarlett O'Hara's youngest sister in "Gone with the Wind" and Polly Benedict in Mickey Rooney's long-running classic "Andy Hardy" film series, died of heart problems Monday at her Beverly Hills, Calif., home, the Associated Press reports.

3. Bergeron hosting 'Fourth'

Tom Bergeron ("Dancing With the Stars"), left, will host "A Capitol Fourth," a July 4 special airing at 8 p.m. on PBS, USA Today reports. Broadcast live from the U.S. Capitol, the event will feature Megan Hilty ("Smash"), "The Voice" winner Javier Colon and others.
