Lindsay Lohan Settles Wild Car Ride Case
Lindsay Lohan has reached an out-of-court settlement with three men who she took on a drink-fuelled car chase after commandeering their vehicle.
Lawyers for both the 25-year-old Mean Girls actress and the three men confirmed the case had been settled before going to trial.
The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Lohan's lawyer, Ed McPherson, said a dismissal notice would be filed in court and the actress could now devote her full attention to her career.
Randall Billington, who represents the three men, said he was happy the case had been resolved - and wished Lohan the best.
Dante Nigro, Jakon Sutter and Ronnie Blake sued Lohan in 2008 following the incident in Santa Monica the previous year.
They claimed their lives had been put at risk when the actress commandeered their 4x4 vehicle and chased her personal assistant alongthe Pacific Coast Highway.
Lohan, who is believed to have driven through red lights, eventually ended up at the Santa Monica Police Department.
She was arrested for driving under the influence - for the second time in less than 90 days.
The three men told US celebrity website TMZ they had gone to a party where Lohan had been drinking and everyone had been "hanging out and having a good time".
Mr Nigro said a row later took place outside the party between Lohan's assistant and her boyfriend - who was friends with the three men.
He said Lohan came out of the house and told the couple to be quiet, after which the assistant told her she quit.
Black said Lohan - who was "really messed up" on booze - began raging at her assistant.
The assistant drove away, after which Lohan commandeered the men's car - with them inside - and went off in hot pursuit.
Lohan admitted being under the influence of cocaine and pleaded no contest to reckless driving and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
She eventually served one day behind bars.
