Hicks: Lindsay Lohan a suspect in jewelry heist
Remember that whole Lindsay Lohan comeback deal? Don't get your hopes up just yet.
Lohan is officially a suspect in a theft earlier this month of $100,000 worth of watches and sunglasses from a Southern California home where she attended a party, according to TMZ.
Lohan, in turn, is blaming a man who says he's Suge Knight's son.
The items were stolen from Sam Magid, who reportedly is a friend of Lohan's.
So the obvious question is this: Was Amanda Bynes the getaway driver?
On Monday, Magid told cops Monday he contacted two of Lohan's friends who were at the party with her -- one of whom is Andrew Knight. Both people allegedly said Lohan handed them a bag with some of the stolen items wrapped in her T-shirt. The men returned the items to Magid, though other items were still missing.
Magid also said he was in touch with Lohan, who allegedly told him she hid some items around the house because she was afraid they would be stolen by burglars.
Of course she did. What are friends for?
TMZ says Magid told police Lohan confessed she was on Ambien at the time she hid the jewelry and was hazy about exactly what happened.
Now Lohan claims Knight is the real culprit, something he strongly denies. So -- as we suspect she probably has been all along -- Lohan is the official target of the investigation.
Magid allegedly told police Lohan contacted him recently and said, "I'm sorry. Please pray for
me."It would probably be more practical to pray for Amanda Bynes to win the Indianapolis 500.
TMZ allegedly heard from a source Monday who said Magid gave police Ziploc bags containing some of the stolen items. In addition to the watches and sunglasses, Tiffany monogrammed silverware was also supposedly taken.
