Tuned In: Lady Gaga May Have Cast Lindsay Lohan in Upcoming Music Video

(PacificCoastNews and Bauer Griffin)Lady Gaga may have actually done something truly shocking for once: Rumor has it she's cast her pal Lindsay Lohan in her next music video. Also, find out why Gaga was spotted wearing a Vera Wang wedding dress in New York, what Aaliyah's family thinks about the new Drake collaboration, and why Katy Perry is attracted to John Mayer. Here's the snappy, abbreviated music news... and gossip.

Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan are apparently close enough that they can crack jokes about cucumber vasectomies at the Chateau Marmont together, so it's not entirely surprising that Gaga wants to give her pal a huge new gig in her upcoming music video. But then it is surprising when you consider that Lohan hasn't really been famous for acting for pretty much a decade.

A source tells E! Onlinethe rumors are totally true: "She will be in Gaga's video. They've become good friends, they talk and text all the time."

"Gaga really likes Lindsay and Lindsay is really happy to be able to be part of it she has a genuine respect and admiration for Gaga and her music," the anonymous source (probably Dina behind a pair of Groucho glasses) added.

Sure, those two have a lot to talk about: Fake tanner, Karl Lagerfeld, peroxide, wearing engagement rings for attention, staging photo ops and then hiding your face like you're allergic to paparazzi.

No matter how well Lindsay performs, Gaga chose wrong. Should've cast La Pequea instead.

More details about the rumored upcoming Aaliyah album are surfacing amid conflicting reports about who's in charge. Though Drake told MTV t! hat he a nd producer Noah "40" Shebib would be in charge of the late singer's new posthumous album, the singer's cousin Jomo Hankerson says that the LP features 16 songs in which the the singer's vocals are paired with contemporary artists', including but not limited to Drake's.

Hankerson explained to Billboard, "We really felt like it was time. There's a real new generation that doesn't know her necessarily, and we wanted to continue her musical legacy with this new generation."

He clarified, "The idea was to release new music for her die-hard fans, and also reintroduce her music to a new generation that doesn't really understand how much influence she has in the music that they're listening to today." He also said that Aaliyah's longtime collaborators Timbaland and Missy would be involved as well.

But there's at least one person who doesn't approve of the new project: Aaliyah's brother, Rashad. On Monday, he took to Facebook to assert, "there is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family."

Katy Perry and John Mayer are a thing, despite his extensive dating history and her habit of affixing sparkly food-related items to her chest. The two were spotted canoodling at high-profile parties over the weekend, which in Hollywood terms means they're on the verge of moving in together.

Thankfully we already know that John Mayer loves him some kitties.

Portland rockers Menomena will treat hometown fans to Dark Side of the Moms, a laser show set to their extremely heavy new album out September 18. Quoth band member Danny Seim, "laser technicians were too expensive so instead we're just crossing our fingers and setting these lasers to 'Floyd'. Maybe it'll line up like The Wizar! d of Oz< /em>!"

Dare to dream.

One of the sweetest songs on Eternal Summers' terrific sophomore album Correct Behavior is "You Kill," which seems even more poignant set to summer house party scenes out of a John Hughes movie. Those of us who are too old to willingly admit we kind of like that Justin Bieber song are bound to get wistful.
