Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen will appear in Scary Movie 5

Lindsay Lohan officially joined the cast of Scary Movie 5 weeks after reports indicated that Lohan had been offered a role.

Vulture says that Lohan is now officially signed on, and she will be joined by Scary Movie 3 star Charlie Sheen.

In Scary Movie 3, Sheen played Tom, a parody of Mel Gibsons character in Signs. Scary Movie 5 will mainly be a parody of Black Swan, according to Complex.

Scary Movie 5 will be the first of the franchise to not star Anna Farris. Ashley Tisdale has been cast in her place.

The Scary Movie franchise has been a financial success, with each of the four previous films surpassing $100 million at the box office. Keenen Ivory Wayans directed the first two films of the series. David Zucker, who rose to prominence as director of the comedy hits Airplane! and all three Naked Gun films, directed the last two and will return for the third.

All four Scary Movie films have been filled with pop culture references in addition to the numerous films that are parodied in each film, so adding Lohan and Sheen, who have been regulars in the tabloids the last few years, makes perfect sense for the filmmakers.
