Like daughter, like father?

Lindsay Lohans father, Michael Lohan has been permanently banned from contacting ex-girlfriend Kate Major at Sarasota County Courthouse in Florida today - and faces up to four years in prison.

TMZ reported that Michael was charged yesterday, (08.11.11) with regard to breach of his first arrest - domestic violence and violation of a domestic injunction. And for his second - resisting arrest without violence after reportedly trying to escape from police and falling into a tree - violating a condition of which would have granted him bail.

Judge Rick De Furia made a short-term injunction permanent at a civil hearing at Sarasota County Courthouse.

Both parties agreed that it was the right decision, as Michael - who has run in with the law like daughter, Lindsay Lohan - who escaped a 30-day jail sentence - was twice arrested last month for breaching the order.

His on-off girlfriend Kate was also present for the hearing.

Judge DeFuria said: 'I just truly, truly hope that this is truly it.'

The full ruling states that he must stay at least 500 feet away from her at all times and he is permanently banned from communicating with her.
