Lindsay Lohan: Is Rosie O'Donnell Right?

Back in 2010, it was outspoken celeb and former drug addict Danny Bonaduce who spoke out about Lindsay Lohan and her troubles. "Rehabs," said Bonaduce, "have a national record of a 96 percent failure record. If you want her off drugs for real, handcuff her and -- it's very difficult to do drugs with your hands chained behind your back. Let's stop playing around with these kids. If you don't want the kid to die, put her in jail with her hands tied behind her back. Everybody says there's all these drugs in jail -- and there are drugs in jail -- but believe me, they're not real easy to come by, especially if you're Lindsay Lohan."

In 2012, another outspoken celeb is speaking her mind on the troubled star. Rosie O'Donnell believes that Lohan should not have been cast as Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's "Liz & Dick."

It's not because she thinks Lindsay has no ability. "I don't think she's untalented, I think she's quite talented," said Rosie.

Even so, Michael Lohan wasn't too happy with the talk show host's opinion. Tweeted Mr. Lohan, "@rosie@todayshow of ALL people,I can't believe YOU would judge my daughter or her ability.Second chances aren't up to you, they're up to God."

Tweeted O'Donnell in response, "@MichaelJLoha! n - she needs help - nobody around her seems to get that - it's tragic what has become of her life - work isn't gonna fix her."

What did Lindsay have to say about it all? "It's funny that someone you don't know at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing."

But were Rosie's remarks that off-base? We've watched Lohan try to get her life together with a Playboy spread, a stint on SNL, being cast as Elizabeth Taylor and now as a guest star of "Glee." We want to hope that everything will go smoothly. But now word from the "Glee" cast is that Lohan is slippin'. Reportedly, she was not one, not two but three hours late for rehearsal. A car, from the "Glee" set, even had to arrive at the Chateau Marmont to pick her up. And once the actress arrived on set, apparently, she was less than camera ready.

Are Danny and Rosie right? Is there any hope for a sustained career for Lindsay Lohan?

Said Rosie, "I [was] watching Whitney Houston's funeral, and I remember thinking why didn't more people say what they knew? We all knew, when she would not show up to do this show, not show up to do my show, we watched Being Bobby Brown and it was like watching Sid and Nancy, they were people who were in the throes of addiction. But all that anyone cared about was that the show was getting ratings, not that this woman, this talented individual, this human being, this mother, this daughter, was worth saving."
