Lohan's comeback in trouble?

Lindsay Lohan's "inability to tell the truth" is putting her latest acting role in jeopardy.

A source has claimed that producers behind the actress' comeback role a television biopic of Elizabeth Taylor and her relationship with Richard Burton are worried by conflicting reports of an alleged altercation with another woman at a hotel earlier this month.

The woman, Marisa Dugas, filed a police report accusing the star of battery after she claims that Lohan pushed her because she was chatting to one of the star's male friends.

Although Lohan has repeatedly claimed that she was not at the Standard Hotel nightclub on 5 April, two other people have told police that they saw Lohan at the bash.

A source told RadarOnline.com that producers of Lifetime movie Liz and Dick "are extremely concerned about Lindsay's hard partying ways. Here are the facts, since she was formally taken off formal probation she has been at the Chateau Marmont several times.

"She was definitely at the nightclub when the assault allegedly took place.

"However, Lindsay told the producers that she wasn't there, so even if she isn't charged with a crime, her inability to tell the truth is hurting her, period."

The alleged incident came just days after Lohan's formal probation relating to a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence was lifted. The actress remains on informal probation for last year's misdemeanour theft case.

Lohan's legal problems make it hard for anybody to employ her as an actress because of the associated insurance costs.

The source added: "The producers had to jump through hoops to get Lindsay insured for the project, so it's very concerning that she is putting herself in situations that just aren't good for her.

"You compound that with the lies, and Lindsay ! is truly her own worst enemy."
