Lindsay Lohan 'was acting in self-defense against Betty Ford worker'

Lindsay Lohan has said that she was acting in self-defence, after an assault and battery claim was made against her.

The actress was responding to a lawsuit, filed by Dawn Holland - now Dawn Bradley - in December 2010 during a rehabilitation stint.

The 25-year-old has finally spoken out, six months after the Betty Ford worker publicly accused the celebrity of "hand-to-hand battery".

Legal representatives for Lohan filed their response in Riverside County Superior Court on January 10, insisting that the entire altercation was provoked by Bradley.

Lohan claimed that anything she may have done was done in self-defence, so she should not have to pay any damages, according to TMZ.

The Mean Girls star also wants the court to force Bradley to cover for her court costs, plus any other relief they see fit.

According to a recent report, Lohan is also being sued by a nanny who she allegedly hit with her car in 2010.
