Lindsay Lohan sued over $40,000 tanning bill, report says

Less than a month after Lindsay Lohan found out she would not be charged in an alleged hit-and-run incident, the actress is reportedly facing a lawsuit over an unpaid $41,000 tanning bill.

A Las Vegas company, Tanning Vegas claims that the actress racked up $41,031.60 between 2007 and 2009. The services provided reportedly required interstate travel, according! to TMZ< /a>.

"I don't believe we've been served with any papers, so cannot comment on a lawsuit that doesn't yet exist," Lohan's publicist told OnTheRedCarpet.com on May 30.

The case was reportedly brought to court nine months ago, when a Nevada judge ordered the actress to pay the bill. Now the salon, owned by Lorit Simon, is working on getting the case moved to California, "so it can attach Lohan's assets to satisfy the judgment."

Simon and Lohan have a long history together, launching the Sevin Nyne self-tanning lotion and mists line which is sold at Sephora stores and features a photo of the 25-year-old actress on the company website, noting that Lohan named the company after her lucky numbers, seven and nine. Tanning Vegas' website features a video of Lohan mentioning Simon on "Late Night with Conan."

The lawsuit is just one of in a string of legal proceedings which have plagued the troubled actress over the past few years.

A judge ruled on March 29 that Lohan has fulfilled all her probation requirements stemming from her 2007 DUI case, which had stalled her acting career. She has served five stints in jail. In addition to her time at the coroner's office, she had to also complete community service hours at a women's shelter, undergo psychological counseling and pay a slew of legal fees as part of a sentence handed down for a misdemeanor theft charge involving a missing necklace, which had in itself constituted a violat! ion of h er probation.

The judge told her that the latter case will be "hanging over" her head until May 24, 2014, but that she did not have to attend probation progress report hearings anymore.

On May 4, Lohan was dismissed of charges against an alleged hit-and-run accident.

Lohan is continuing her attempts at a career comeback, starting with a starring role in a Lifetime television movie about Elizabeth Taylor called "Liz & Dick," which will star "GCB" actor Grant Bowler as Richard Burton.

Lohan also appeared in an episode of "Glee" last month. Her most recent film role was in the 2010 Robert Rodriguez action flick, "Machete."
