In July of 1998, Disneys remake of The Parent Trap hit theaters. The movie introduced audiences to Lindsay Lohan, a sassy redheaded tween with an undeniably bright future; EWs Lisa Schwarzbaum praised the young actresss natural, pleasurable 1990s hipness, saying that little Lohan was a worthy successor to the original films Hayley Mills.

Of course, we all know what happened to Lindsay over the next 14 years. The stars troubles give a poignant context to the following exclusive clip, which shows a 10-year-old Lohan ruminating about the nature of fame. Its weird. Its definitely weird, she tells an interviewer with a shy smile. But I dont want to, like, change, or let anything go to my head or anything. I want to try to stay normal. I just want to stay a normal kid, go to college, go to regular school for now, and stuff like that.

The clip airs as a part of VH1s upcoming 100 Greatest Kid Stars, the first hour of which premieres Nov. 29 at 9 p.m. ET and PT. Though the show features Lohan, she doesnt make it all the way into the specials top five kid stars Justin Bieber, Macaulay Culkin, Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Daniel Radcliffe make up the top of the list.
