Lindsay Lohan will be charged for lying to police after June car accident
While it may have initially seemed like Lindsay Lohan had avoided any trouble with police because of her June car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway, six months later she is reportedly being charged with lying to police.
Back on June 8, Lohan was involved in a car crash with an 18-wheeler and her black Porsche was totaled. While it was reported that she wasnt drunk, shortly after the accident, TMZ reported that Lohan had lied to police about not driving the car. She told them that her assistant was driving, although witnesses said they saw that it was Lohan.
On Tuesday, law enforcement sources told TMZ that the Santa Monica City Attorney is ready to file a misdemeanor charge against Lohan, possibly by the end of the week.
The sites sources also claim that Lohan was almost charged for having prescription drugs scattered around the car. However, when her lawyer provided authorities with documentation that proved that she did have prescriptions for the pills, they decided not to pursue that charge.
If the charges are filed, she could face problems with Judge Stephanie Sautner, who is handling her jewelry theft case. Lohan might have violated her probation by lying to the police, which could land her in jail.
Th! is news comes a few weeks after Lohan was cleared of any charges stemming from her hit-and-run incident in New York in September.
