Lindsay Lohans Playboy issue is selling very well, according to magazine

(Playboy) Lindsay Lohans issue of Playboy was expected to be a major seller for the mens magazine, whose circulation guarantee has declined from nearly 7 million in 1972 to 1.5 million in 2010. But then, what may have been the inevitable happened: The entire pictorial leaked online.

The issues release date was moved up to last Friday. But the question still remained: How would the issue sell if the images were already on the Internet?

Extremely well, according to Hugh Hefner, who tweeted Sunday, The Lindsay Lohan January-February Double Issue is breaking sales records.

Last week, Hefner told E! he had mixed emotions about Lohans shoot, adding, I wasnt quite sure where she was at in her life, obviously. Depends on whether its Tuesday or Thursday. He later said he was happy with the outcome.

A rep for Playboy declined to elaborate on Hefners tweet or give specific information about the issues sales num! bers to Celebritology but said it is selling very well.

Fox 411 cast some doubt on interest in the issue, after its bloggers visited the shelves of newsstands and gas stations from New York to Philadelphia and reported that Lohans pictorial wasnt selling well. TMZ countered this report with claims that newsstands in major cities ... have had to re-order the issue multiple times.
