'Playboy's Hugh Hefner: 'I had doubts about Lindsay Lohan'

Hugh Hefner has admitted that he initially had "mixed emotions" about Lindsay Lohan posing for his magazine Playboy.

The Playboy founder previously claimed that he designed the concept for Lohan's nude photoshoot, but has revealed to People that he was initially unsure he wanted the actress in his magazine because she is "carrying around some serious luggage".

"The concept came from my editors I had mixed emotions to begin with," Hefner said. "I could not have anticipated, quite frankly, that it would turn out to be such a sensational newsworthy event, or that the pictorial would turn out so well."

Hefner added that he's now very proud of Lohan's Playboy issue and suggested that the pictorial could help revive her acting career.

He explained: "Historically, Playboy pictorials are connected to celebrities at various times in their career. Sometimes it's the beginning of their career and sometimes it comes at a particular moment - as with Lindsay - that is intended as a turnaround."

Public interest in Lohan's Playboy issue was so high that some photographs leaked, prompting the magazine to push forward her issue's release by several weeks.

Lohan has previously cl! aimed th at posing for Playboy helped her become more comfortable with her body.
