Lindsay Lohan's Trial To Go Forward In March

A Los Angeles judge has refused to dismiss the reckless driving and obstruction case against Lindsay Lohan.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Dabney said the troubled starlet still has to stand trial later this month in connection with a 2012 car crash.

A Porsche luxury sports car belonging to Lohan, 26, smashed into a truck in Santa Monica in June.

She will go on trial on March 18 on three misdemeanours: reckless driving, lying to authorities and obstructing the police in the aftermath of the accident.

Lohan told police she was not driving the car at the time of the accident, but police say they have evidence that she was.

She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

At a brief hearing on Friday that Lohan did not attend, Mr Dabney rejected defence lawyer Mark Heller's argument that police illegally questioned his client after the accident.

The judge also denied Mr Heller's request that Lohan's trial be pushed back to April.

The actress faces three months to a year in jail on each charge if she is convicted, although jail time is seen as unlikely due to California's prison overcrowding problems.

The actress has been in out of trouble since 2007, entering rehab a number of times and serving short stints in jail.

Earlier this week, MrHeller told reporters that Lohan had begun a new round of psychotherapy in an attempt to turn her life around - and wants to give inspirational speeches to schoolchildren.
