Lindsay Lohan refuses to sign off on a new lawyer found by her father.
The actress's estranged father Michael Lohan reportedly approached California attorney David Wohl, who has practiced criminal defence law for 25 years, about joining her legal team ahead of her trial on March 18, relating to her charges about lying to police about driving her car when she crashed last June.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the 26-year-old troubled starlet's current lawyer Mark Heller has been in daily contact with David but Lindsay hasn't given him her stamp of approval yet.
Michael has instructed David to appear in court regardless of his daughter's current attitude in a bid to force her to hire him.
The 52-year-old showbiz patriarch was horrified by the performance of Mark in court earlier this month, during which the judge called the New York lawyer 'incompetent' and urged him to find a California attorney to help him.
Lindsay has already rejected several offers of plea deals from prosecutors because she doesn't want to be jailed, go to rehab or be put under house arrest.
While her lawyer is confident he can make a deal with prosecutors, Lindsay was previously said to be eager to go ahead with the trial, even though multiple witnesses, including the passenger in her car will testify she was driving when she hit a cement truck on the Pacific Coast Highway last June.
Even if the former 'Mean Girls' star is acquitted, she could still go to jail for up to 245 days for violating her probation, which she has been on since July 2011 after being found guilty of stealing a necklace.
