Hicks: Lindsay Lohan might get support from Mel Gibson
Lindsay Lohan may be getting some help ... from Mel Gibson.
Right. This may be putting match to the gasoline.
Actually, the "Braveheart" star said he has reached out to Lohan in the past and "I may again," he recently told Extra. When it comes to Lindsay's recent troubles with alcohol and the law, Gibson said, "Well, we all know about that. It takes one to know one.
The move isn't unprecedented. Gibson famously reached out to another star when she was on a downward spiral -- Britney Spears.
Gibson was at a poker benefit for Mending Kids International, a group that provides surgical care to kids worldwide, with which he and ex-wife Robyn are still involved. "Despite the fact that we're separated we're both still in this," he said.
Friends Jodie Foster and Robert Downey Jr. were, as usual, very supportive of Gibson at the event. Foster said "I love the guy, the good and the bad," while Downey said, "Seasons change. Highs and lows come and go. I just love the guy."
He's right. Screaming, anti-Semitic rants and shrill death threats come and go. What's not to love?
Lohan has not commented Gibson's offer of help.
