Lindsay Lohan In Trouble Over 'Unpaid Taxes'
Lindsay Lohan's bank accounts have been seized by the US government over hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid taxes, according to reports.
But the actress has apparently had some help from an unlikely source, with Charlie Sheen coming to her aid by paying down \$100,000 (62,000) of her debt to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
TMZ, the celebrity news website, said she owes\$233,900 (145,000) to the federal government.
The amounts relate to unpaid taxes in 2009 and 2010.
The news comes days after the Mean Girls actress was arrested on November 29 for allegedly assaulting a woman in a New York night club.
Hours later the troubled starlet was charged in California with lying to police and reckless driving in relation to a car accident earlier this year.
That case could see the actress, who is on probation in California for stealing a gold necklace from a jewellery shop, sent back to jail.
She was involved in a NYPD investigation in September after alleging a man had assaulted her in a New York hotel, but charges against him were later dropped.
Also in September, the actress was accused of clipping a man with her car outside a Manhattan nightclub, but prosecutors chose not to move ahead with charges.
In October, police were called to her childhood home on Long Island after a report of a fight between her and her mother. An investigation revealed "no criminality".
In May, she was cleared of allegations that she struck a Hollywood nightclub manager with her car.
Lohan's latest project - the television movie Liz & Dick, in which she portrays screen icon Elizabeth Taylor - was widely panned by critics after its premier last month.
