Lindsay Lohan stars in first clip from Bret Easton Ellis's 'The Canyons' - watch

The first clip from new Bret Easton Ellis movie The Canyons has been unveiled.

The three-minute teaser features Lindsay Lohan and porn star-turned-actor James Deen, who shows his nasty side towards the end. Scroll down and click 'play' to watch the clip.

The Canyons marks the screenwriting debut of Bret Easton Ellis (pictured), the controversial author of American Psycho and Less Than Zero. The film is billed as a "contemporary LA noir... about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their twenties". The official synopsis also promises "deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence".

The Canyons is directed by Paul Schrader, best known as the screenwriter behind Raging Bull and Taxi Driver. The project reached its production budget thanks to contributions on fundraising website Kickstarter and shooting took place in LA over the summer. Earlier this month (January 2013), a sound clip ! surfaced which apparently captures Lohan swearing at her co-star during a rehearsal.

The Canyons has no official release date yet and has reportedly been rejected by this year's Sundance Film Festival. However, it is expected to open in cinemas at some point in 2013.
